This handmade easter egg is painted using the famous Turkish tile art technique originated in Iznik. Iznik tile, the hardest of all ceramic productions, is obtained through the synthesis of human labor, creativity and patience. tiles produced by this unique technique are made on a very clean white base with hard backs and underglazed decorations and 70-80 percent of them are composed of quartz and quartzite. Its beauty arises from the harmonious composition of three successive quartz layers and a paste-slip-gaze combination which is extremely difficult to bring together. The mixture of quartz, clay and glaze disperses in a very wide thermic spectrum at 900 centigrade. Some of the colors observed on these tiles, particularly the coral red are very hard to obtain and apply. This hand painted easter egg makes a very unique gift or collectible.
